Rukungiri Developement Agency (RUDA) is a registered NGO with the Uganda NGO board. it operates in and outside Uganda with a mission to contribute to the improvement of the status of the marginalised groups in the rural communities. RUDA is affiliated to several NGOs and CBOs in the country and has been identified as a development partner in Rukungiri, Kanungu , Kabale, and other districts in Uganda.
The Objectives of RUDA are:
- To promote sustainable development in rural communities in the district.
- To promote Gender in the social, economic and political spheres
- To promote savings and and credit among the women and men and establishing micro credit schemes in the area.
- To have a synergy with other Ngos and CBOs
- To create awareness on human rights through legal education, paralegal training and establishment of a legal aid clinic
- To promote environmental protection and bio-diversity
- Promotionn of health through improved hygne, sanitation and nutritional status.
- To fight HIV/AIDS scourge
- to promote adult functional Literacy.
